Why don’t I see 5G in the status bar on my iPhone?

Connecting to a 5G Network

To connect to a 5G network, first make sure that your device and eSIM support 5G. Only iPhone 12 models or later are compatible with 5G networks. Additionally, you need to be in an area with 5G coverage to establish a connection. Please note that being too far away from a 5G tower may result in slower speeds or a drop to a 4G or LTE connection.

Checking for 5G Availability

If your iPhone’s status bar does not indicate a 5G connection, follow these steps:

  1. Ensure that you are in an area with 5G coverage. If not, a 5G connection may not be available.
  2. Go to Settings and tap on Cellular/Mobile.
  3. Select the preferred SIM if you have multiple SIM cards active on your device.
  4. Tap on Cellular/Mobile Data Options.
  5. Check if the option for VOICE & DATA has 5G ON. If it does, your device has 5G activated and should be able to connect to a 5G network.
  6. If 5G is not an option, it means that your eSIM does not support 5G.

Troubleshooting

If your device has 5G activated but you still don’t have a 5G connection, try the following troubleshooting steps:

  1. Turn on AIRPLANE MODE and then turn it off again. This can help reconnect to a 5G network.
  2. If the issue persists, please contact our support team for further assistance in troubleshooting your connection.

Note: If you have an eSIM that supports 5G and your device has 5G activated, but you are still unable to establish a 5G connection, it is recommended to reach out to our support team for further assistance.
